Fast + FreshJoin us in celebrating dance. Fast+Fresh Dance showcases the talents of Sydney's young and creative choreographers and dancers 21 years of age or younger. The festival offers all participants the opportunity to create, develop and perform innovative new dance works and gain vital industry experience.

In partnership with Short+Sweet and the Riverside Theatre, Western Sydney Dance Action is proud to present Fast+Fresh Dance in 2009. Following the success of the festival's inaugural season in 2008, the festival is returning in November to amaze audiences and showcase short dance works choreographed and performed by Sydney finest young talent.

We have received over 40 entries in dance styles such as ballet, hiphop, jazz, contemporary, tap, krumping, parkour, physical theatre and lyrical. So if you love dance and would like to be involved, why not take this opportunity to come along and support these talented young artists.

CONNECTED:
Western Sydney Dance Action will be presenting a series of FREE professional development workshops in dance for primary school teachers. The workshop program is facilitated by WSDA and is supported by Arts NSW through the ConnectEd Arts program.

Led by professional dance artists Tamarah Tossey and Tanya Voges, these introductory workshops aim to build and develop movement-based skills for primary school teachers. The workshops will focus on the dance components in the Years K - 6 Syllabus and seek to demonstrate how dance can be linked to other Key Learning Areas of the Syllabus. The lead artists will guide the participants through a range of topics including: safe dance practices, warm up techniques, practical composition tasks, aspects of performance and different genres of dance.

“The course was easy to understand and activities simple, easy and obviously transferable to all levels of ability, age groups.” J. Stone, Grose View Public School

This Level One Introductory series is ideal for teachers needing further knowledge of creating movement/dance activities to reach the outcomes of the syllabus or for teachers who may need further inspiration to build upon their current activities.
